Comments on 6.4.07 Full Release

Now that I have had a chance to play 6.4.07 for awhile, I wanted to provide some comments about some of the improvements from 6.3. The display of the firm description on hover works very well; it saves me a great deal of time. I also appreciate seeing the firm description in supplier lists instead of merely the firm type. My favorite new feature is the limited listing of suppliers once the factory layout plan has been chosen. This limited listing makes it quick and easy to find and select my supplier -- especially valuable when you have hundreds of suppliers for various products.

I had never used the HRO, so I didn't realize the set training for selected firms existed. I was hoping for something more "set it and forget it" such that new firms received the same training as existing firm types. Nevertheless, what does exist is still very useful.

Question: How do you disable the "batch selection" option once you have used it to set training levels? I had to save my game, exit and load before I could list firms and use the "Go" button to take me to the selected firm. A help prompt showing how to exit batch selection would be useful.

Has anyone reported curious behavior with the hover feature for Civic and Sports facilities? I noticed that all Civic buildings used "City Hall" in the firm description when hovering over the civic building and all Sports Facilities used "Tennis Court" when hovering over the sports firm. The correct description was used when selecting and viewing details of the firm, the issue just existed on hovering over the firm.

I decided to try the Autolink function for retail stores. After choosing a retail store layout plan I allowed Autolink to provide the links to my suppliers. More often than not, I was quite diappointed with the choice of suppliers. The Autolink would select competitor suppliers instead of my suppliers. It would choose suppliers in distant cities even though I had local suppliers. And it would choose factories for suppliers instead of my warehouses for those factories. Sometimes it would overload one small factory with dozens of clients even though a medium or large factory existed.

Suggestion: Providing an option for setting multi-level policies for the Autolink function on retail stores would be helpful. Players who are satisfied with the existing Autolink choices would not need to set policies. A player could quide Autolink to choose 1) internal suppliers before external suppliers, 2) local suppliers before non-local suppliers, 3) warehouses before factories, and 4) closest distance or greatest available supply. For example, my preference would be to always choose internal suppliers, second priority would be choose local suppliers, third priority would be warehouse suppliers. For exceptions, a player would avoid choosing Autolink.

The programmer will add a "Cancel" button in the version 6.5.01 as you suggested.
