I cant get rich please help

Post by Yacal »

Well that the thing.
I play on the hardest mode because thats the only way I want to play and I cant get rich by retailing and manufacturing, I can get it done by real state or by doing finances but cant get it done by any other way, and I dont know what im doing wrong.
The only way I can get a little is by doing cattle and selling, but it took me decades just to have money and cant even get into the top 5 companies.
I dont know what to do, I ve been looking for some videos but the only one that play in hardest is from version 4 like a thousands years ago.
I have the all DLC but digital age, please I need some strategy to get it done without real state nor finances.

Also I dont know how can I make the numbers in factories etc, for example, I dont know when my factory or farm is selling all the production, or what size of factory to build. Also I dont know how to price factories or farm production as for what I've seen if I price to cost they loose money and I dont get why.
Also I dont know If I should make factories on every city or how many retails should I make per city.

Please help me.

For your information, the Banking and Finance DLC has a separate Difficulty setting (see the attached screenshot) than the Overall Difficulty Setting you see on the first page of the New Game Settings menu.

So the banking and insurance sectors are not necessarily more profitable if their Difficulty level is set to the hardest as well.

In view of all this, I would recommend that you opt for a lower difficulty level for a more enjoyable game.

"I cant get rich please help"
"I play on the hardest mode because thats the only way I want to play"

Then don't play on the hardest mode. If the highest level of difficulty was allowing the player to get rich, it wouldn't be so difficult.
I suggest you create proper threads in the strategy section for your questions. You shouldn't play difficult games if you don't have a good understanding of these subjects you're mentioning. You have at least 4 interesting questions there :)

Yeah but I dont like to play games in any easy or medium mode. I need to know how to do things with only retailing in the hard mode.

Ok the first few tips are for free.

Decide which strategy you want to employ - is it retail or manufacturing ? You can't usually do both on the initial budget (unless its high) as it costs too much to get it going properly (ie you run out of cash before you start running a decent profit). Assuming you start with retail (most people do as its easier/more direct in terms of profits and pricing is easier), then setup a big store (supermarket or department store) in a prime location in a big city. Fill that store with good margin products (this is the trial and error part that we've all been through) and start selling. To keep it simple, don't worry too much about advertising for now as theses are not your products and the advertising is of no real benefit.

Click on the picture of the good you have just setup to sell in your shop and look at the numbers in the lower left window - initially you will need to price your goods so that the overall rating (on the left) is at least as high as the city rating (on the right). Cycle through price levels by changing the price and clicking confirm....once you hit a rating number that is superior to the number on the right, your product should start selling. There is some nuancing around this relative to brand importance, quality, etc, so if the product does not start selling, then you can further help it on its way by lowering the price to one click lower than the city price. You'll start to get the hang of that pretty quickly and there are times when you can really massage selling prices up to maximise profit. Basically advertising (and therefore brand) & product quality will allow you to set your prices higher and effectively keep out the competition.

The rest is for you to work out.

Thank you for the help, can you also answer the questions that I had?
Thank you very much

I've done that, but by the time I have more than 8 or so shops I cant handle it, I need to check and tons of products are not selling at all and the others dont give enough to really get anywere, If I do my own production I go almost broke or cant compete etc...

Well if the products aren't selling then usually its because your pricing level is not good - its tough to compete with low quality goods, but not impossible. Margins are just finer and you have to pay great attention to detail (like freight cost, market share, branding, etc). Rome wasn't built in a day though, patience and diligence will win out. This game doesn't reward haste and carelessness (and nor should it !).
