Currently, when you hire a CEO/COO, you have but a single option when it comes to the advertising budget: Yes or No The problem is the A.I. boss will select when and the advertising vehicle AND I may not agree with those choices. For example, choosing another company's or government-owned media firm over my own media firms or not advertising at all.
I would like more control over my executives in advertising to free me from having to personally manage advertising.
Tick box examples:
Always Prefer Own/Parent Advertising Firm / Choose Best Advertising Firm (own or competitor)
Set focus in Advertising Strategy, for example:
Maximize Reach, Maximize Duration, Maximize Frequency
A slider for each product that allows me to SET amount to spend on advertising without having to visit EACH retail location that is selling that product. This would be similar to how it is implemented for other products when setting a pricing policy to either maximize profit or maximize market share.
More examples:
Advertise Products with a quality rating over (chosen quality rating)

Re: CEO/COO and Advertising
Dissagree. Every single A.I player have a different personality, character, competence, etc. Thats make the game more challenging.mrgarrettscott wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 5:20 pm Currently, when you hire a CEO/COO, you have but a single option when it comes to the advertising budget: Yes or No The problem is the A.I. boss will select when and the advertising vehicle AND I may not agree with those choices. Re: CEO/COO and Advertising
I agree that the A.I. has different personalities; yet, compare what I'm requesting to the level of direction you can give the CEO of a subsidiary. Here is the short list:
Expansion in retail, production, media, software, Internet, banking, insurance, R&D, real estate, and telecom
Production: You can tell your CEO which products he may or may not produce
Management policies: Maximize profit or market share, the importance of freight cost, supply tolerance, where to look for better products/supplies, internal sale policy, AND control over budgets for training, R&D, advertising
Granted, if none of these "guideposts" were available, the A.I. CEO/COO could still run the company, just not in the manner in which we would likely prefer and that means most of us wouldn't use the feature. One of the reasons the subsidiary DLC is useful
Essentially, I am requesting an additional tab to direct the CEO/COO in how advertising should be approached as a simple yes or no is insufficient.
