I think this was suggested many times. Last one I found is

and more to the point this discussion has been going on since before 5.9.00....

I know that changing the graphs and pie charts is a pain - to say the least, but this alternative suggestion would be simple? to implement:
Don't change the UI elements at all and don't add numbers to them, instead, on mouse over use the tooltip to provide the user with more data.
Keep the tooltip helpt text, but add at the bottom of it.
for graphs
1. The value of the graph at the end of last month.
2. The current value of the graph up to the current day of the month.
Because sometimes we can't just eyeball the exact value - this is the most important metric IMHO
for pie charts:
either make the tooltip sense which portion of the pie the cursor is under and provide exact numbers for that (% and monetary/units volume) (difficult & tricky)
or
Just provide a list of top 5 or top 10 pie components in the tooltip text.
Thank You!

I approve of better information from graphs!
