Re: New features to help marketing the game
Towards that objective of broadening the game's appeal in order to target a larger number of users, we have been thinking about ways to make it easier for new players to learn Cap2/CapLab. Cap2 already has a tutorial which is what currently players use for learning the game. We would like to explore ideas for an even easier tutorial for players who find Cap2's tutorial too lengthy.
Below are some of our ideas on this and would like to hear your feedback and suggestions on them.
Introductory version of CapLab
A campaign consisting of many scenarios. There is a story connecting the scenarios.
The first few scenarios are quick and easy, like casual games.
The story
The player is the son of a tycoon and his father wants him to learn how to run a business. His father gives him the task of setting up a supermarket chain and assigns a manager to assist him.
Scenario 1
The player only has to set up a few supermarkets. There will AI manager for each supermarket and the manager will automatically purchase the items for the player.
Goal: to set up 4 supermarkets in each city.
Gameplay: need to wait for existing supermarkets to generate cash, in order to have sufficient money to build more supermarkets.
Scenario 2
The player has to set up a Convenience Store chain this time. The player has to buy the products on his own. The 3x3 layout are hidden. The player just has to set up the products and they are expected to be profitable.
Tutorial: teach the player about the concept of Price, Brand, Quality and Overall Rating, which essential for choosing the right products to purchase.
Scenario 3
The player builds a number of apartments to form a new residential area, and sets up supermarkets to take advantage of the consumer demands in the residential area.
Scenario 4
The player has to build a department store.
Tutorial: introduce 3x3 grids
