People have been trying to make this work for years, but both Wine and Proton/Steam still have trouble with it on anything other than Windows.
I first played Cap in the late 90's. I'd love to revisit this game on Linux, but even running it in a Windows VM is not playable
It feels like it's something to do with the graphics or mouse library being used, but has there been any real attempt to dig into this?
I'd love to help, and I'm sure there are other devs who would too.
It kinda feels like all these tweaks and basic modding is not really growing the Cap Lab userbase, it's just providing more content to already hardcore fans.
What makes Cap Lab almost unique in 2024, that it wont run under linux?

We have ported CapLab to SDL in version 10.0: viewtopic.php?t=9331
If Wine or Proton supports games using SDL, there is a chance that it will run CapLab too.
I'd be happy to give you a test CapLab account to try it if you are interested.
