In a few of my games, the CPU market is huge and since its a semi product, I can't disable my subsidiaries going into that market. This causes my subs and lots of other AIs to go into that market, but without large investment in tech it causes them to fail to sell any CPUs. My sub is loosing millions of dollars to this.
I'm thinking Semi products can't be disable due to also disabling other semi products that may be needed. Is this the issue?
I do see that its an attractive market opportunity, so is the AI/Sub telling me we should invest in CPU production? Should I be working with my Bevarage sub to develop a CPU Strategy?
Why would my Beverage sub go so deep into this market, building 4 factories and selling zero CPUs?
How to best deal with this?
Playing on 10.0.16
Edit: Just discovered that my sub had a low quality product stuck in its selling unit which a much higher quality product in its production unit. Sub did not clear out low quality product. Looking to see if manually clearing this would help but I still would rather the sub not go into CPU. Not sure why it did not clear out the low quality inventory... Not sure of the logic or requirements for this action to happen. Any help?

Re: CPU Market - Can't disable via Scope of production
Are you sure that Subsidiaries go into Semi-product markets that they don't need? It sounds strange that they would sell products that don't need CPUs and then build a CPU factory. I don't think I have seen this happen before. Though I have seen some odd behaviour before like companies getting into retail despite being Real Estate only (only happens occasionally).TheOscar wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 10:57 pm In a few of my games, the CPU market is huge and since its a semi product, I can't disable my subsidiaries going into that market. Micromanaging what semi-products can or can't be built would be tricky, I suppose the game could automatically block disabling certain products if certain other categories are allowed, i.e you can't block Electronic Components if Computers, Communication Devices, etc are enabled. Something like that anyway or can't block Silicon if CPUs are enabled. Or perhaps you could be allowed to block them but would get a warning that those products would have to be sourced from somewhere else.
Overall though the issue sounds more like you need a bug fix, a Beverage company should not be in the CPU market in general.

This is exactly how I would imagine directing the sub would work, does not seem to be working for me. I'll post it as a bug and see if it can be investigatedStylesjl wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:04 am I suppose the game could automatically block disabling certain products if certain other categories are allowed, i.e you can't block Electronic Components if Computers, Communication Devices, etc are enabled. maybe the game needs to have multiple semi products groups..
Eletronics, Food etc.
