Hi,
I used to have a real world view with real cities instead of a 'fictional' world. I don't think this is mod related, but is implemented in a later version?
Can I switch back to the 'real' world view. I have added 15 cities to my load script but they are scattered around a fictional map I can't find my cities anymore. Main challenge is that I want to build regional / continental warehouses and the fictional map view really messes up my orientation.

Re: World view vs fictional view?
Please be informed that all cities belong to the same nation in CES DLC, thus the map is different from the one without CES DLC.

Hey David,
Sorry been a while. Thanks for pointin this one out. I do like the CES module; can I disable the nation report and get back to the old view?

Re: World view vs fictional view?
I've asked the dev team.
Even if the nation report is disabled, due to the need to allow the player to create new cities in the CES DLC, the map will not ensemble a real map and the placements of the cities on the map will be random. Only the names of the cities will be real ones.
Will this improve your gameplay experience?
Do you have any other suggestions that are better than the above approach?
Please let me know your thoughts and I will pass it to the dev team.

Hi, First time posting I feel similar to other comments but have some different ideas/suggestionsDavid wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:03 am Please be informed that all cities belong to the same nation in CES DLC, thus the map is different from the one without CES DLC.

Would it be possible to add a button to toggle option for some setting like there is a button for survival mode but for some options/othermode? Or maybe add some more settings in scripts?(explained below)
If it meant I could have the world map, I would turn off the ability to create cities (sometimes I like playing with 15 cities) myself maybe by a button, DLC setting, script. Or have a window optional window pop up where you input coordinates when creating city which sets place so its not random. It also just feels weird having China, USA, and other countries be similar distance apart or at least appear based on the map.
In scripts you can select the city location with coordinates, if the city location is random, set the X and Y coordinates so its not random and is accurate to the world map. maybe add another setting under DLC or [CITIES] script where you can type the nation (just like you can type the name, population, wage, and other settings) so the nation report can work with the world map. Or if its more efficient have [NATION] script where you can input stuff. if that doesn't work other options below
If that's not possible, just have the systems on by default but have for an option to toggle off nation report /other settings that conflict with world map for the sake of having the world map so there are more ways to play without restricting others by making it optional settings/toggles. Id be happy to disable some stuff occasionally for the world map.
If possible It would be nice to have the world map and politics and other systems that conflict allow to toggle off so there is an option for variety without impeding other players games so default can stay with all the settings unaffected so both ways are supported.

I have forwarded your suggestions and comments to the dev team and they have the following feedback:gulmak wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 11:57 am Hi, First time posting I feel similar to other comments but have some different ideas/suggestions

They are open to the idea of implementing a new modding feature that allows modders to create custom world/regional maps that mirror real world ones.
For example, a modder may create a map for UK and add the locations of a selected list of UK cities there.
Such world map mods will be a new type of mod that can be loaded separately from the game content mods, so that you will be able to use them with the vanilla game content.
Please let me know if anyone is interested in this modding endeavor and I will further communicate with the dev team for more concrete details.

Re: World view vs fictional view?
I am very interested in having real world/regional maps. Will it also be possible to increase the number of cities in the game?
Would it also be possible to have market shares for individual cities/regions?
Thanks

Re: World view vs fictional view?
Thanks for your interest. I will get the details from the dev team and let you know soon.
I asked the dev team before but that will increase the game data sizes too much, resulting in excessively large save game files and also slow down the game, so that they do not plan to do so.
By the way, have you tried out the new shopping mall feature and the retail space in apartments and commercial buildings in the closed beta?
