CPU/CCD Montly Processing Capacity

Post by Darrus »

I noticed that the monthly processing capacity for CPUs and CCDs is too low. Even for a large factory, the capacity is only 750 units per month.

Upon further investigation, it seems that all factory sizes—regardless of the training level of the manufacturing nodes—are capped at a maximum of 750 CPUs per month.

Could you please look into this? Thanks!

I downloaded the latest version (11.0.29), and the same problem persists.

I have found that CPU factories are notoriously slow at producing CPUs. I think the problem stems from the fact that CPUs are expensive items ($200) and the more expensive something is the slower the production. This requires me to build quite a lot of CPU factories to match the needs for computer computer factories, etc.

I suppose there are two ways to speed it up (aside from building bigger factories):

- Mod the game to reduce the CPU price.
- Mod the game to increase the base production speed of the factory (like it already is for engines or motorcycles).

yep as stylesjl already noted, either drop price for CPU/CCD to increase production output or raise the manufacturing speed for itbut raising manufacturing speed means insane profits, not sure what setup you got but its about 2 computer factories to be supplied by a CPU factory thats fully trained to lvl 9 about 5 million profit in a large factory for cpu if you go for base price of about 200 per cpu double the speed and you got 10 million profit on a factory. its all about balancing as cpu or ccd cost barely anything in production

The issue I am experiencing is not that a factory produces too few CPUs/CCDs. The problem is that a small factory produces 750 CPUs per production unit, and a mega-large factory also produces 750 per production unit. Furthermore, the production unit's level does not impact production, as it remains capped at a maximum of 750 units.

I can't replicate this problem. Can you provide a save game of this?

I first noticed the problem while using the RealWorld 14.1 mod. After deactivating the mod, the issue persisted in the unmodded version of the game.
Perhaps the mod is the cause, as the issue has been reported in the modding section.

The CPU is a case where 1 lb of silicon produces 50 units of CPU. Since the manufacturing unit cannot do fractional production, it must at least do one production cycle each time where 50 units of CPU will be produced. Thus, small factories are having larger than normal production capacity.

In the new version 11.0.30, it has been changed to only produce 5 units of CPU using 1 lb of silicon and the above issue is resolved.
