I really like the ability to use apartments and commercial building to setup stores. It makes a lot more sense in dense downtown areas to maximize the real estate space.
However, I wish I could use that space to setup bank branches and insurance front office. Hopefully the feature will be in the full release.

Must be a subsidiary thing. My bank HQ is in a subsidiary and unlike malls the Store setup menu doesn't ask which company is setting up the new store.

thats because you can only use that space inside apartment and commercials with the company that owns that building, so if you want your sub that owns the bank have bank branches inside an apartment you got to give em those apartments where you want the branch inPat_theBrat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 3:42 pm Must be a subsidiary thing. Re: Small feature request for the Service Industry DLC
I did some testings and that not quite what happens.
No matter who owns the building the new store will be owned by the parent company. For example, I created a new corporate building through my bank subsidiary and tried to setup a new bank branch. The option wasn't there. When I setup any other type of stores, it's owned by my parent company.
What's really missing is the "controlled companies" menu you get when you setup a store in a mall. That would allow you to specify which company is setting up the store.
