Buy Brands From Competitors

Post by alexzhz »

As we know, brand purchase is now becoming more and more popular in real business world, especially sometimes company-level acquisition is not necessary, for example, Lenovo bought PC business from IBM, instead of acquising IBM. My suggestion is that in this game there should be an option to allow players buy brands from competitors, there also should be a function to make brand purchase available, with this function players can create their own brand and decide which brand should be used at a certain category or product, they can even use more than 2 brands to cover 1 category, just like Tide and Ariel, each brand has its own brand image, I have to admitted that it is hard to accomplish, but brand marketing is now becoming more and more important, Capitalism Lab should simulate this situation.

I agree. I'd like for CapLab to dig deeper into the whole branding game mechanic if at all possible.

I agree too.

Then - what about a market for tech levels (or part of a tech level, as i read before somewhere), brands... like the stock exchange...

And a market for all the firms "for sale" - just a list in the game, where all for sale buildings are listed you can easily browse it and choose what to buy.

Yes, I'd love to see a list in the game of all the businesses that are for sale so that I can easily browse them, see their stats and decide if I want to buy them directly from the list instead of having to look around all 7 maps to try to find the ones that are currently for sale.

You can already get such a list from the Firm Report, with the "Firm for Sale" filter selected.

Guess I never felt the need for it, from what I remember back when I used to play Cap 2 I don't recall getting into buying other companies all that often, used to just play to amass as much cash as possible where as now I play it sometimes to try to just challenge myself with doing things like buying the failing AI businesses to try to make them show a profit. Actually I do this more and more lately since cash is so easy to amass in the Cap games anyway.

As I get older I like to find the easiest way of accomplishing the same task.
