I'm pleased to unveil the first screenshot preview of the Billionaire Life DLC, which is currently in development.
For more info about what Wealth Spending DLC is about, please check out this thread: https://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewt ... 748#p45748
This screenshot shows a work-in-progress version of the Art Gallery user interface alongside the Auction interface.
Much like mansions, art galleries are built by individual persons rather than corporations in the game.
This screenshot shows an art gallery owned by an AI person with a collection of 5 paintings. The Auction UI shows that an ongoing auction for a painting where another AI bidder currently holds the highest bid.
I will share more details about other tabs on the Art Gallery UI, including the "Art Details", "Artists", "Art Movements" and "Sales History" in the coming couple weeks.
Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

Re: First screenshot preview of Wealth Spending DLC
if every AI can build one though that could be dozens of new structures when maps are often crowded anyway.
not to mention many of the rich collector types hide them away when they buy rare art and stuff.

Re: First screenshot preview of Wealth Spending DLC
I like the idea of private art galleries - perhaps they could also be built by city governments in the CES DLC as well?
They might contribute to the clutter on maps however if too many are built. Mansions can already be a bit of a nuisance when every in game person can build them (thankfully they only build one each). Perhaps they should be somewhat expensive to discourage every in game AI person from building their own individual art gallery. It should only be available to players with a sufficient level of wealth.
But I like the idea of auctioning art and having art movements. Perhaps the player could even sponsor artists or art movements to manipulate the art prices or gain influence?

Re: First screenshot preview of Wealth Spending DLC
Thats why i was always hoping any "mansion" in a wealth type dlc would be off the game map, where you can build and upgrade with extra features as you unlock goalsStylesjl wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 12:40 pm

Re: First screenshot preview of Wealth Spending DLC
I've forwarded the suggestions from both of you on this to the dev team.
In the beta I played, there were fewer than 10 AI owned art galleries in total located in different cities. So it doesn't seem to occupy much real estate space in each city.
