New Feature: AI May Establish New Cities in Capitalism Lab version 12.0

Experience an even more dynamic and competitive world in the City Economic Simulation DLC with the new game option “AI May Establish New Cities“. When enabled, your AI rivals can now found entirely new cities in undeveloped regions — just like you — using the Build New City feature.



AI competitors will:
• Select promising undeveloped areas on the map
• Invest substantial funds to establish city treasuries
• Appoint their own mayors

This gives them exclusive 30-year control over the new city’s development. New cities appear organically over time, driven by AI strategy and available capital, adding realism and surprise as the game world evolves beyond your direct influence.

I have switched on this option in my current game using my experimental DLC, and I found it to be a very good addition.
Giving the AI the ability to establish new cities makes the world feel more dynamic, but it also has a very practical effect on how the map evolves over time. When this option is disabled with me the only one who can found new cities, I have repeatedly ended up with a saturated and visually “heavy” map, which becomes less pleasant to play on in the long run.
With AI-created cities, the development is more spread out across the map and the game feels more airy and breathable. It reduces the feeling of having a single overbuilt region and instead creates a more balanced, living world as the game progresses.
This is real good addition.
