Are you using Windows 8 Release Preview or already have purchased a full Windows 8, and are you running on Surface or on an usual computer?
Have you applied Compatibility settings for Capitalism Lab so that it is for Windows 7?

I installed Windows 8 in a virtual machine and was able to run the application. It should run properly....
