Media firms rating

Post by robinh »

I think the rating of media firms should be a lot more flexile, dependant on your content spending. The way it is the rating almost doesn't move. I think even a brand new media firm should be able to get a very high rating quickly if it spends a lot on new content. And an established good rated television that doesn't create new content should loose it's rating very fast.

In real life, media ratings do move very slowly. For instance, ABC, CNN and NBC have been enjoying market leaderships for years after years, and we actually can't name a new successful media firm in the traditional TV market easily.

While I don't think media rating should change much faster, I DO think you should be able to advertise your own media network in other media to improve it. Advertising my unsuccessful TV station in my much more successful Newspaper (or visa versa) should allow me to improve my ratings, and will act as a bonus for focusing on media control.

Interesting thought. I would suggest that you set up a poll about this idea.

Since I'm abstaining, (not being a media guy) I'll take this time to say:

"Wow, there are too many suggestions for me to give proper consideration too!" lol
