In another topic I wrote:
The price of technologies is EXTREMELY low. Giving your competition that has 100+ more in a tech about $10M is ridiculous. Imagine Nokia paying Apple $10M for their latest Iphone tech. If you can get over $100M a year per product you dominate, the tech should be AT LEAST 10 or 20 times more valuable than it is. It would also make tech based companies more meaningful.

Re: Technology value
If tech acquisition prices are too high, it will put AI off from buying tech and tech focused companies will end up not selling much of its tech and will have a hard time surviving.
Here is the rationale for the current tech cost setting: a company who owns the tech can sell the same tech multiple times, to multiple companies and thus can still make decent profits.

I often get offers for upto 100M for high-level (100+) techs. I think the pricing is fine, tbh.

Re: Technology value
Well, yes, after the inflation builds up around 2010 it can get up to $100M. But that's a time when players usually have over 1bn annual profit and 100M is just a bit of change.Naselus wrote:I often get offers for upto 100M for high-level (100+) techs. I think the pricing is fine, tbh.
I think it should be 100M in 1990. Acquiring technologies for the price as it is feels like cheating.

Re: Technology value
In my game the other companies try to buy my high tech, no matter how high, with inadequately low offers (below 10 Mio)
((I might add that I usuallly have inflation turned off)

Let's wait for more poll results on this topic and see how other players think about it. If enough people feel the same, I will forward this to the dev team for consideration.

Re: Technology value
I think it should be depending on the product and its relation in quality ressource quality and technology.
A higttech product like a cpu/computer should have more costs in developing its tech level than a chair or bread for raising 1/10/100 techpoints.
So i think covering to relation in quality of ressource quality and technology if you produce it, and this suggested numbers and costs f. e. a chair shold keep in costs as ist is and a cpu should raise in costs ?10? times.
Ingame it would be realitic.
If someone have a problem with the currency and the relation to real possibilitys maybe the name of the ingame currency should be changed in ?Cap(Sim)$ (CS$)?
So then its a fantasy currency.

Re: Technology value
We intend to introduce a new script variable in a future version that allows you to modifier standard technology acquisition costs.
