Can the COO be taught to automatically adjust the training level?
That's the only boring micromanagement I have to do after I delegate all my factories and stores to him.
The script could be simple: max utilization - max training, less than 50% utilitation - no training and spread the rest in between. That's how I do it anyway. Can this be coded?

Re: Training management
You may just observe AI's firms and see if you are happy with AI's abilities in setting the right level of training. If so, it is possible to extend that AI code to COO.

Re: Training management
Good, I have never thought of spying on the AI
It seems to work very well, sometimes I would just set the level higher in anticipation of higher demand.
Well, let's see if more players apreciate it but if is just another optional check-box for automatic training level than noone can complain that it is there

Well, neither your poll nor initial post mentioned "option"robinh wrote:is just another optional check-box

As long they quit training when all units are at level 9, I wouldn't have anything to complain about. I haven't research the current AI's behavior. But I never trust a strange computer.

Sorry, of course I wanted it to be an option, not to force it on anybody.Esoteric Rogue wrote:Well, neither your poll nor initial post mentioned "option"robinh wrote:is just another optional check-box

And yep, the AI is good enough to stop training at level 9 or when the capacity is unused already.

The latest post-release beta 2.1.00 version has added the option to let COO set the training budget for you:

Re: Training management
Fantastic, that's one less thing to worry about
The only weak place is the training levels on farms. Once there is enough supply to cover the demand the COO thinks it's not necessary to train. But I want to to have better quality products. So I max the training spending until I have level 7-8 and only then let my COO manage it to get the bonus and get to level 9.
