bug ver. 2.1.00

Post by matejfore »

COO is still setting the prices in the store too high - COO setting is set to very aggressive.

1) Could you please provide the save game?

2) Would like to know anybody else is experiencing the same - whether it is happening all the time or occasionally.

Which firm you think the COO is not setting price aggressively enough in your save game? Could you capture a screenshot of that firm and post it here?

You can check the retail stores for frozen lamb, beef,... I is happening in the cities where there is no competition other then the local stores.

I notice that your product's overall rating is already very high. A better strategy than further decreasing the price would be to open more retail store selling the same product. (As it is very hard to dominate the market with a single retail store.)

I disagree. I have dominated the market, before I hired COO. As seen from the picture COO raised the prices over 100%. This would work in a real world for a car (perhaps) or other high tech products, but not for a bottle of wine.
A fine example is also frozen lamb product in my saved game. No one is buying it anymore, so my werhouse is full.
After the fix COO is raising the prices a little bit slower then before, but it is irritating to go over and over again fixing his/hers poor pricing decisions.

Can I suggest another COO option : "do not go over the local prices". This should be easy to implement.

Of course I would like to see more fancy and practical solution such as + and - percentage to go over the local price but would be happy with the first solution.

Building more retail stores is not an option since all the good spots are filled with AI R&D centers and factories in the middle of the town.

Since the COO policy applies to all firms the COO manages, this may drive some firms to negative profitability territories.

Same issue as above. Unless the game allows you to set this differently for individual stores. But then it will strip the COO from his/her ability to make his/her own decisions. After all, COO = Chief Operating Officer and it is not realistic to micromanage COO to such an extent. Also, it will complicate the interface.

I don't think there is a perfect COO policy that will suits situations. Some firms should be managed by the player (CEO), which is supposed to be part of the gameplay, as the COO will never do a job as good as the human player.

The best we can do at the moment is to make this change in the next version:
-When your COO’s pricing strategy is set to Very Aggressive, the COO will set product prices even lower.

Though, you may keep coming up with other ideas for improving the COO management and we will evaluate them.

Thanks for the answer, even if it's a straight NO. I think you should put up a pool to see what other user's think.
