Name and bookmark firms.

Post by Timofmars »

I think it could be useful if there was the capability to name firms. Sometimes I'll have multiple factories or warehouse offering the same thing, and the only way to differentiate them in when linking to them is by looking at supply and demand differences or similar details. Being able to label them solve that problem. That'd also help when going through retail stores repeatedly to check for inefficiencies like unused tiles or under-supplied products. I'd probably learn to recognize certain firms I've named and know that they're fine because their selling my own stable products, and I can quickly find the ones that need adjustments.

If these names could be seen on the firms overview, that would make that screen more informative too.

Another possible improvement could be the ability to bookmark or shortlist firms that you want to keep track of and be able to find quickly. Maybe there could be a little box on the screen listing all the bookmarked firms so that 1 click on them would take you right to them. I'd use this by bookmarking all the new firms I build, and then removing the bookmarks once they were set up for the long term.

+1 i find it impossible to run an efficent company in the late game because of the volume of factorys/stores producing and selling the same things. An ability to give firms a custom name would be a miracle

Indeed, they kind of added the feature to re-name stores and factory's but it seems rather useless as it is.
Having the names integrated into Firm Overview is a step forward, as would be adding it to the Select Suppliers screen.
