We have been making improvements to the competitor AI.

Those who prefer multiplayer games may try the Cap Lab open beta when it is ready and we will collect your feedback as to whether you think AI competitors make for a worthy challenge to you, in the absence of human players.

It is also our plan to improve the AI on a continuous basis with Cap Lab, which is an on-going project.

Improved AI is definitely an attractive feature but AI is still based upon a finite formulated programming, whereas human players can easily find new ways and develop new strategies to out smart their opponents. One of the biggest features of Cap II that I would think had capture many fans to Cap II was the multiplayer support with great business simulation game play.

Many PC games today focused too much on superb graphics and FPS which had totally left great game play out the door as an important aspect that makes a game fun to play. Cap II combined great game play and multiplayer support in a great package that business simulation game fans can't refuse. We find that many business simulation PC games have good looking graphics but totally lack a great game play of how a business game suppose to be like, and not to mention the lack of a good smooth multiplayer support. I really hope that Enlight would put in more thoughts into implementing a multiplayer support as I do not wish this new Cap Lab be in the same category as the rest of those "waste of time and money" business simulation games out in the market.

Any feedback on this is welcome.
Why there is no plans to implement multiplayer in the add-on? In part it's reasonable since you can't afford dedicated servers. But why no LAN support to play via Hamachi/Gameranger?. It would be nice to play an improved game with higher resolutions in multiplayer. Also it's interesting for educational purposes.

I know that I, for one, would be willing to pay more if this game Capitalism Lab were multiplayer.

For example, if Cap Lab is to be single player, perhaps it would be $9.95. For a multiplayer version, I'd pay $14.95.

This might be an interesting question to pose to your hardcore fan base. Maybe lots of people feel this way?

Multiplayer is not necessary IMO because I'm mostly interested in beating the most difficult AI in different situations (game is also much faster without other human players) and making as much money as I possibly can while keeping the management simple on the whole. Laziness has always been a hurdle for me so I don't like micromanagement and like to simplify things sometimes too much. It has caused me much failure in video games in general.

I've personally haven't played the Cap II multiplayer, and am not planning to do so in the near future. So, as far as I'm concerned, a limited expansion solely focusing on single player, with improved graphics, interface and gameplay would be awesome.

I still hope a Cap III is among the possibilities in the next couple of years, having to play games that are 10-15 years old simply because there isn't anything better just doesn't feel right in a world where computers double in processing capabilities every two years.

hello

in respect to games like:

Yuppies revenge
Oil Imperium 1&2
Black Gold
Ports of Call
Invest
Airline Tycoon
ATrain
Railroad Tycoon 1,2,x
Industrie Giant

CAPITALISM I and II was the very best game I have played over so many years !
.. and I'm talking about many years

It is still and possibly will ever be on my Best10-List (which also includes Elite and Elite beyond the Frontier of D. Braben)

I would like to:

- be a beta tester for CapII/Addon
- donate
- contribute

I also played Hotel Giant & Seven Kingdoms btw.

I remember to play Cap2 with my friend in LAN hours and hours. Its such a great game.
Thats why I found that Forum now .. on my search of something like Capitalism.

With my compliments.

We have set up a Wikia page for Capitalism 2 and Capitalism Lab at http://capitalismlab.wikia.com

You may contribute by posting your strategies for Capitalism 2 on the web site.

When Capitalism Lab is released in the near future, you may write articles about the add-on too.

Thanks
David
