Hopefully Multiplayer Support will be added on in the future

Post by fitw83 »

I have been a big fan of capitalism 2 and still am a big fan. I still play cap 2 with my 2 cousins very often. And I'm sure by considering to add multiplayer support into the new addon in the future will put smiles back on many fans of the game. It might not be an important feature to many people who are used to playing alone, but to those, and of many, who have played or still are playing multiplayer on cap 2 with friends and family, it is a very important feature. An improved AI will certainly bring new level of gameplay and challenge, but multiplayer gives the game move live when playing with other human players. So many possibilities can happen with human players. But with AI players, mistakes and irrational decisions are very minimal, if any at all. And in our real world, people will eventually make irrational decisions from time to time, and some may commit more than others. That makes the game world more realistic and live like. I hope many others share the same affection and can stand to make enough numbers of support to persuade you guys in adding such important feature back into the game.

I also would love to see a patch in the future that adds Multiplayer to Cap Lab. I have played this on and off with my friend for years and now that he has a new baby in the house, a game like this would be perfect.

I would encourage you to give the Challenge Game system a try, especially that now you will be able to create private challenge games and compete with your friends in a game settings you prefer.

I don't think they're going to implement it. For now, at least. Look at their struggle to implement user-defined scripts. I realize that it takes a lot of time, effort and cost, but this example shows they're ready to introduce minor suggestions or improvements in a pretty quick time, but have little potential to do the same with the major patches.

Looking at the private challenge game system, the way it develops and encouraging efforts of David to try it, I am utterly skeptical to believe multiplayer for CapLab will be for real at all.

While we have no plan to develop real-time multiplayer in the future, the private challenge game system does allow for competitions among players, albeit indirectly.

If you haven't given the private challenge game system a try yet, I would encourage you to do so.
