Elections and research improvements

Post by litecz »

Hello,

I just started to play a game (played like 50+ hours), but I find two thing quite unlogical:

1. Elections. Why there is only one way to gane "support score" to become mayor? Is there is possibility to make it more complex, for ex. we already can donate some of our cash flow to the city. Why it could not have impact on score of our policital parties? In real life, media also play a key role in elections. Often, people who own TV, websites, and radio stations may or may not provide their platforms for promoting presidential or mayoral candidates. Is it possible to add a promotional option similar to the current functionality of bank branches? This could be done in a more interesting way, for example, by prohibiting propaganda for "enemy" candidates in their media. Similarly, we could be prohibited from using platforms by owners of media companies that support other parties (by being members of them, for example). It can also be a lucrative endeavor and expand media revenue opportunities, as candidates can invest significant resources in promotion.

Summary:

1. Add the ability to promote in the media for mayoral candidates + the ability to prohibit/allow media use for different candidates.
2. Add the ability to influence ratings through donations through headquarters.

2. Research. Why can't I set up automatic recruitment? In the old version, it was easier for me to lure candidates because the AI might overlook its employees' salaries. Now, with automatic satisfaction enabled, it's practically impossible to lure employees from R&D and IT companies. I've only noticed rare dips to 79% satisfaction, but apparently during periods when the research ends and employees are improving their competencies. Literally the next day, employees are 80% satisfied and don't want to move to my company.

I see two options for improvement:

1. One is to add automated recruitment capabilities so that, regardless of any costs, employees are immediately lured from a competitor to my R&D system for designated slots. I understand that this could be a performance issue if such requests are handled by 20-50-100+ R&D companies daily, but this could be limited by the ability to select only 1-2-3 products/R&D offices/IT offices where automated recruitment is possible (it is also looks like balanced gameplay feature). For example, there's a RND office with nine empty slots, and it enables automatic recruitment of new employees. If there are available employees in the general pool or if there's an opportunity to lure them from a competitor, an employee is hired into the open slot at a salary level of 80-100% satisfaction (% can be set). Also this feature could cost some money. Perhaps the chances of success may depend on the monthly budget for recruting (budget and UI of this featore can look like advertising at stores in experimental mode).

2. The second option, perhaps more elegant, can be used either independently or in conjunction with the first. For example, after each completed research, there's a chance (say, 10%-50%, depending on the training budget) that the employee will decide to "change their environment". A flag is placed on them for a month, allowing them to lure them from the company if their salary is in the 90% satisfaction range or lower.

All the figures are, of course, not final. I simply wanted to describe a concept that, in my opinion, would be an improvement and automation to minimaze micromanagement. Perhaps you have a better idea for both cases.
