I sometimes find the factory layout structure limiting, if you are making a 3 input product and want to have 3 mfg stations you need to double up on one of the inputs.
I understand changing the 9 box structure of factories would be a major undertaking, but if we could lay them out as different nodes that can be dragged and rearranged, I think it would lead to a far more flexible factory setup.
the picture below just illustrates how the nodes could be re arranged and connected.

Well, I like your picture, but I feel obligated to say you need a better example, because we can do what you depicted with the current system. What benefits would your system have over the current system?
