Since there's an online requirement for the game I think it would help to sell this requirement by adding additional features that take advantage of that connection. Here a few suggestions I came up with in the 30 seconds I thought about it before creating this post.
- Online back-up of saved games and the ability to play save games from any computer*
- Player Challenge games could be saved as public (shown to anyone on the capitalism lab website), ability to transfer or upload private challenge games to a user registered on the CapitalismlLb.com website.
- Save game financial stats available in text format on the CapitalismLab.com website (such as balance sheet, income statement, ranking). Providing players will constant access to game stats.
Would be nice to have these type of features in a new "release" version of CapitalismLab.
More online features!

T'would be cool.WilliamMGary wrote:ability to play save games from any company
I've wanted the ability to export the game stats in CSV format to import into any spreadsheet. Along with normal games, I also wanted to use such data to make a nice graph of greewoch's progress in "Fashion Challenge". While the challenge data is currently represented in tabular format, regular ingame stats are lost once you end the game.WilliamMGary wrote:Save game financial stats available in text format on the CapitalismLab.com website (such as balance sheet, income statement, ranking). Company = Computer of course (spelling error prone).
I would love to have the ability to analyze my company via a spreadsheet.

Actually, with the current version, you could just post your Private Challenge Games on this forum, on CapLab Facebook page, or on your own web site. Any CapLab players using post-release beta version will be able to participate in your Private Challenge Games.- Player Challenge games could be saved as public (shown to anyone on the capitalism lab website), ability to transfer or upload private challenge games to a user registered on the CapitalismlLb.com website.
Why don't you create a Private Challenge Game, and give it a try?

No, No, you were right the first time.WilliamMGary wrote:Company = Computer of course (spelling error prone).

It would be very cool to jump into an ongoing game (a la challenge games) yet with the choice to select one from any of the competitors' corporations to play.

I don't think it would be worth the cost to the developers to keep a server(s) running and provide uptime. Plus people will be pissed if they ever lose data, which happens unless the company has backups of the servers and so forth which again, costs money. Given the problems with SimCity2013, I don't think online storage is the way to go. I would rather the developers spend money on other areas than provide online access.
