Splitting up subsidiaries

Has the idea of being able to split subsidiary companies up been discussed?

For example, I acquire a firm that produces Cars and Motorcycles and has established supply chains for both. But you want to sell the Motorcycle business and only focus on Cars. Could a feature be added to the game that would allow you to bookmark all the firms that make up the Motorcycle business from a mine to retail store and 1) sell that whole business as 1 unit or 2) take that business public

There's the transfer firm feature. You can create a subsidiary as your parent or as your company. Then use the transfer firm feature to transfer all aspects of the second business.
