Currently within the mod files users are able to add new buildings and new building image, but there is no means to edit current buildings. For me the most challenging part of modding new buildings is adding a new graphic since I'm not a graphic designer. Perhaps instead allow users to adjust the names, specs, etc of current buildings.
For example, the game has multiple midsize factories to choose from. If we could edit current buildings like we could products we could remove some of the midsize factors and use those building graphics for new buildings. perhaps I use one of the graphics to create a new extra large factory.
It also might be a fun tool to allow users to set what product classes a factory could produce. Perhaps I would add a new factory called "Assembly Plant" or "bottling plant", with that it would be nice to set the assembly plant to only produce cars/motorcycles or the bottling plant to only produce milk/soda etc
Also maybe users would want to adjust the capacity of the buildings to limit the number of necessary firms.

Re: Mod Buildings
Actually you can find the original building images in the ""MOD_kit\Images\Buildings (Original) folder.

Re: Mod Buildings
Sorry, I guess my main point wasn't communicated well. I know we can adjust the original building images. However, there is not a data file for the original buildings. I can't go in and change the name of the Large Factory, for example, to something else or even delete a building from the menu. Also there is not an option to edit any of the original building configurations.
