Buildings / Skins / Maps as DLCs

Post by WilliamMGary »

Capitalism Lab, as anyone who played Cap II can attest to, is an amazing game especially with active development. With the developer making for-pay DLCs (which I'm still waiting for info on if the DLCs will have updates after release) the recent "Trend" in gaming is skins, Maps etc that go on sale for existing players for $.99 or $4.99 that add something special to the game.

Any money that can go to help pay for development I think is a good thing I'm not sure if "skins" would be a good idea for Capitalism Lab but detailed buildings (the kind EA raved about before they killed SimCity) would a cheap add-on I would pay say $4.99 for in Capitalsim Lab. Maybe introduce some different store types even along with the updated look of the buildings.

Maps every city tends to have the same basic map just maybe oriented differently (not sure about this) I could see the desire by some players to pay say $2.99 for maps that can be used in their game so that each city could have a different layout (maybe the City Economics DLC).

The only issue with this idea is that fact that every update tends to render older games incompatible which it starting to get to the point of being unacceptable. Any plans for smaller/cheaper um... artificial DLC or packs for Capitalism Lab in the future?
