no longer works - new computer

avid player, love the game, but my old old laptop i use to use died. I have owned 2 since and neither would load/install or run the game. I have since bought a new desk top PC and yet again i cannot get the game to work. Its the original disk in the original game box.
Is it because the games runs on a much lower operating system?
Im not a tech person, so any advice would be awesome. Or do i just assume i will never play the game again?

You may try the following solutions:


1) Right-click on the Capitalism Lab icon to open the properties window.
2) Select the “Compatibilities” tab and check the Windows XP Compatibility option.
3) Enable the option "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings."
4) Enable the option "Run this program as an administrator."
5) Run the game.

i tried these things, but nothing has worked.

When i put the cd in, it wont even auto start, i need to go into file manager to find it. When i do click the game icon, it comes up with play the game, but the 'instal game; is not a highlighted option.

Is the game you were referring Capitalism 2 instead of Capitalism Lab?

Is it a problem with the Capitalism 2 CDROM?

if i bought Cap-lab as a download would it work?

ive been looking for a way to keep playing this game for a couple of years now
