CTO needs to pick new research topics more carefully

Hi,

I just noticed that the CTO is not very good in picking research fields automatically. I noticed that the guy switched to some random products I neither have industry to support it nor do I have the raw materials to go into these fields.

Like I started classically on the timber strategy and expanded into leather goods and apparels, now starting to roll up the electronics and computer sector. But the CTO chooses to go for Detergent research instead of looking into keeping focus on used technology advances compared to competitors, and expanding into related fields.

The CTO logic needs to put priorities on stuff the player will need now or in the next two-three years. Only when every used technology is at or beyond competitor levels, the next focus should be on products that are made from raw materials and semi products we have already in production. And only if there is nothing in this category, the CTO should look into any technologies where there is no competition yet.
