How about the idea of opening your own fastfood chain or restaurant?
It would have a great impact on the farm companies giving them new variation of products like potatoes or salad (generally more vegetables) and would let the player process some already existing products further, like meat into hamburgers instead of just selling it at your supermarket.
What do you think about that idea?

I agree. I think it would be a really easy type of thing to implement as well. It could function realistically exactly as any other retail store in the game with no new programming.

Re: Fastfood chains / restaurants
While a restaurant never really crossed my thoughts when I first heard back in 2010 that they would be doing an expansion for Capitalism 2, I would never vote down any idea that would bring more business's to run in Capitalism Lab. I think it would only benefit from many more types of buildings to add to the game besides the usual manufacturing, retailing and resource harvesting.
I could however now that the idea has been raised, see restaurant chains fitting right in with the current game mechanics, build farm, build slaughterhouse or processing plant, build restaurant to sell those goods.
I only wonder one thing though... When I sell a silver necklace or a gold ring, or some other product in Cap lab right now, they sell for several hundreds of dollars to several thousands of dollars. Most "meals" are going to be sold between $5.00 and let's say, high end for one person at $50.00
Could a restaurant and all of it's necessary components (i.e., farm, ranch, slaughter house and or processing plant as well as the restaurant itself) survive and even thrive on the smaller amount of incomes that could be made while still keeping prices somewhat realistic (somewhat I said, now stop that laughing).
Just a thought, and I admit that I've not given restaurants in Cap Lab more than a few minutes thought and not tried to actually think it all the way through.

Re: Fastfood chains / restaurants
I'd like to refresh the idea.
It shouldn't be hard to implement indeed imho. If we limit the game's possibilites to the products we have, the eating places could be divided into:
1) fast food bars (4 land plots) selling:
a) hamburgers (bread + beef)
b) hot dogs (bread + pork)
c) chicken wings (chicken)
2) restaurants (6 land plots) selling:
a) soup (canned soup)
b) entrée (beef/pork/chicken)
c) dessert (ice cream)
The issue how much of each ingredient would be needed for one eating item is to be pondered. The necessity index around 50%, the demand index based on the customers traffic as in the retail buildings. I guess creating new graphics for new buildings type would be more challenging for the dev team. It's just the idea that came about when I was eating yesterday's dinner at the restaruant...

The supermarket system in the game (ex: eggs) would be the way this could be implemented. Fast food makes it money on volume just like the grocery industry already in the game. I like this idea. You could ship precooked (McDonald's) burgers from the factory to the restaurant and they sell them. You could market and sell them using current game mechanisms that are already in place. This would be great. A few different types of restaurants from burger joints (hamburgers, French fries, soda, salads) to steakhouses (steak, rice, potatoes etc).

agree also its a good idea
Some items are also sell at low price such as beverage and it work fine
Also it can be a new strategy for corporation

Yes that's another good service I hadn't thought of yet.
