Hi again,
Here's my idea for expanding "domination" statistics in the game:
1. When browsing all corporations, there's a menu called "Domination", which shows industries/sectors in which you have some firms and dominate to some %
I think that should be expanded both in number of stats inside and with option to browse that not only by corporations, but by industries. In other words - way more detailed info
2. For example, i usually play in RE or Media (or both) and easily come to control more than 50% of the market. But i wanna see other stats, outside "my" sectors. Let's say there're more than 500 stores in the game, and i own just 1. This is not "0%" domination, but it's not "1%" domination either. So i suggest something like "less than 1%" as a possible stat.
3. If i want to invest in new sector, i at least must be able to check it first - to see if i can break in there easily or not. Or if the sector is balanced, or if i can buy into several corporations, and so on.
4. More detailed sector structure with sectors and sub-sectors in order to better understand the market. Here's an example in this:
List of sectors/subsectors:
* Media sector
--- Printed media (this sub-sector should be expanded with magazines)
--- Digital media
* Manufacturing
--- Consumer goods
--- Semi-products
* Real Estate
--- Office space RE
--- Appartment RE
--- (Mall RE?)
* Natural resources
--- Oil sub-sector
--- Logging sub-sector
--- Mining sub-sector
* Retail sector
--- Electronics sub-sector
--- Food and beverages sub-sector
--- Body-care sub-sector
--- Automotive sub-sector
--- Apparel
--- Other
note: this sector could be divided by product class sub-sectors
* Farming
--- Livestock sub-sector
--- Crops sub-sector
* Tech sector - without subsectors?
* Digital Age sector
--- Software sub-sector
--- Telecom sub-sector
--- Internet sub-sector
* Banking DLC
--- Banking sub-sector
--- Insurance sub-sector
* Investment sector
(no subsectors, companies ranked by ($ of) assets owned like bonds, shares, etc)
(possibly future industries divided by sub-sectors too in the same way)
So basically - you can see dominance by sectors or sub-sectors if you wish. The stats will show/calculate your dominance on both fronts too. For example Corp A has 50% dominance on "Digital Age sector" and when expanded the info will show that Corp A has 10% in Software, 50% in Telecom and 80% in Internet.
And again - you should be able to browse by companies, sectors, sub-sectors, may be like in another menu called "Dominance", dedicated just for this.
5. Scenarios can be build around dominance in a specifis sub-sector(s) with or without combinations with sectors. For example - a scenario in which your goal is to dominated the whole "Farming sector" + "Food subsector in Retail" + dominance in 2 specific products like corn and tabacco. Or dominated "Digital Media Sub-sector" + "Telecom sub-sector" + "Internet sub-sector" + to be in top 3 in "Tech Sector"
Of course the info/stats in Dominance can be shown like lists, but also like pie-graphs and/or charts.
