CMO operation

Post by Joubarbe »

I'm wondering how the CMO exactly works; in my game my brand index is falling, even though the slider that adjusts the advertisement goals is set to the maximum. The CMO removes the links of all my ad. units and sometimes (rarely) sets a budget to a high value, otherwise to 0. He got fired very quickly, because with no links to sales units, advertisement seems to be completely useless.

Or maybe I don't understand how this works. Before I hired him, I was doing pretty fine, with all my ad. units linked to my Sales units in retail stores (end of the chain only).

We will investigate the problem.

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) Which version of Capitalism Lab you are using. You can see the version number on the top-right of the main menu.
2) The exact steps for triggering the issue with the save game
3) If your savegame uses a MOD, please let us know the name of the MOD and the MOD's version number.

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from the C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

You may provide us with your save game file by posting it here on the forum as a ZIP file attachment or emailing the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

If your save game file is too large for attachment, you may check out this post about how to send us large files: https://www.enlight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2473

Savegame attached. 6.5.11, no mods.

1/ Open any convenience store that has an Advertisement unit (first floor), then link it to the adjacent Sales units and increase the budget.

2/ Put the Target Brand Rating slider at max.

3/ Accelerate time. You'll see two things:

a. The CMO breaks the links to the Sales units.
b. The CMO resets the budget to 0, and sometimes, for a brief moment, increases it to about 40%, without linking it to anything. Target brand rating is never achieved.

I loaded your save game and found out the reason - the brand awareness is already very high. It is the brand loyalty that drags the overall Brand Rating down. In this situation, doing any further advertising won't help.

Wow I've completely missed this mechanics of gameplay, always looking at the brand rating. How do you improve the loyalty then?

EDIT: Sorry, just read the tooltip: I need to improve the quality :)
