Dedicated Resource and Farming areas

Post by cantdownloadit »

Its unrealistic having all the resources on the main city map in the city centre, same with the farms.

Allow separate map spaces on the "world" map

Some farm areas where only farms can be built..

Some Resources areas, which are remote and away from cities.

This would also increase freight costs etc which are artificially low in this game since the mine is often right in the middle of the city when resources/produce often travel thousands of miles to get to factories

Possible technology park sites / the option to build one industrial site per company on the map where only you can build factories.

I might be wrong , I could be confusing it with a totally different game as it was a long time ago 199?

But:
In the original Capitalism you had to find good soil quality and the right climate, for each crop.
it was annoying as you had to click all over the map to find the right combination.

The build a farm anywhere approach of CL should be overhauled, so that some crops could only be grown in
certain cities, and not all farm land would have the same soil quality. like the CTI (consumer traffic index)
for shops.

Possibly these cities could have much smaller urban centers with correspondingly small populations, but
lots of fertile land for crops.

You would still be able to build stores and factories, but it would be uneconomic to build a discount megastore.
Smaller 2x2 stores would be able to thrive. Mega factories would not be able to find all the employees they need,
but small and medium factories could.
