Right now, there is not much incentive to give the player a salary as the CEO of the corporation. But how about if it has to pay the bills?. Let's say that before it has a mansion, it lives in the city, in an apartment and it has to pay x amount every month.
This could be optional, like an extra challenge, and it will just force an extra expense to the company. In the headquarters, the CEO will have a minimum salary by default. It could be reduced (and of course incremented) BUT if the player reaches $0 in its personal account, it is forces to sell something of its own or increment its salary (thus incrementing the expenses of the company even more).
This could be the base for more complex ideas like the ones I saw in this post: https://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewt ... =49&t=7109
So, if the player buys more things, it could lead to more expenses. Also the philanthropy idea could be used to help the city in some way.

Re: Expenses for the player/CEO
I like this, I think it's one of those aspects a some of the management games I've played also miss.
I do like the idea of having the option to do it because it might end up being a distraction or a lot of people will discover their true selves
