First of all, this game (I don't want to call it such, the rightful name would be simulation, or at more so stroke of genius) is expansive and exceeds the scope of anything I have played before. A lot of work was put into this game, it has a professional look and feel but with many creations it does fall short in a few places. I want to state that nothing which has happened to me (bugs/crashes) has dissuaded me from enjoying this title, however there are a few INTERFACE issues I can see people will have problems with.
The right click button is too overpowering in any sense, it instantly closes whatever window you were on. This is annoying when you are setting up supply lines/analysing financial data/issuing or buying shares/issuing or buying bonds
My suggestion- All this game literally needs is a Windows UI style interface. Minimise, maximise and close buttons on the top right hand corner of EVERY window. Be it for the stock market, Corporate summary or whatever information I want to view. By doing this and removing the right-click to go back, you enable us to fully focus on what we are doing without having to worry about clicking the (+/-) signs correctly, throwing the window away and having to do the action again.
I can see that this isn't a setting issue, however I think something like this would not require too much changing of the game content. Definitely consider this on your next patch.
The introduction or expansion of commodities - This will be a contentious issue and possibly has arguments for both sides. It would make the game more complicated however it would unlock avenues for investing money or hedging against inflation. In the real world we hedge gold and silver against paper money because paper money is worthless. When SHTF we will most certainly start using silver and gold. Anyone with crypto will be sat holding a bag of digital numbers that no one wants. So as we can see in Venezuela, it's back to basics with gold for a haircut/lunch at a cafe/your weekly grocery shop.
As it stands, gold and silver are resources and production materials, while this is true, I think Capitalism lab falls short on showing the importance of the precious metals. Outside of selling to competitors, and manufacturing a few pieces of jewelry- I don't think they fully utilised within the scope of the game. Perhaps citizens could sell their gold or silver to you or competitors- just like in the real world- I invite discussions on this, as I do with any of my suggestions
Banking & Finance DLC - Is definitely my favourite addition to the base game, however as many on the forum have complained, the scope of banks are rather limited- offering only bank accounts or loans.
Maybe expand on the loans- people in the city will need mortgages, loans for cars/holidays/whatever - The current loan interface is a disaster waiting to happen most times. Naturally when the economy suffers my bank suddenly empties itself because it needs to supplement the deposit/loan ratio, all you can do is change the allocation of loans to the risk categories- You should be able to set additional rates or penalty clauses- something to flesh out the services that the banks offer. There should be another element of control for banks, a central reserve of gold that can be used as both money or a medium of exchange between competitors, or sold to the government and held in their reserve (which they will determine when to sell or freeze the supply/buy it from citizens/steal people's wealth.
Additionally Insurance firms feel horribly unbalanced and unfair if you don't tweak the premiums and positive multipliers. Underwriting is never worth it unless supplemented with shares in other companies. I understand this is generally the way it works, but there needs to be instances or occurances of competitors taking out insurance to cover their buildings- as more often than not a few of my apartment buildings burn down or my stores are looted. There should be an insurance system for companies or added to the current DLC that allows businesses to benefit from insurance instead of just selling it. Doing this will introduce additional conditions that a player will have to pay attention to.
I will be adding additional suggestions to this thread so expect me to post again.

Re: All DLC, 6 months of constant play, here are my suggestions
Hi,
i agree with that part about banks - there are already several topics about expanding that area, esp. the bank's services and portfolio.
As for commodities, there's a topic from last year - https://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewt ... =14&t=7488 that you can check and give an opinion. In my view, commodities is a weak side of the game, as in real world gold, iron, oil etc. are really valuable and trading/mining them is the business of the richest corporations. Right now oil is used mostly to make plastic, gold and sivler - for jewels and so on. This could be expanded a lot and may mix well with other sides of the game.
And then combining the two things - banks trading in/out commodities, plus few more things (credit card companies, for example) can turn the mentioned DLC into something more.

Can you do a poll, with a few example with what you would like change ?
It could be great for the community to have all of that... Or not.

Thanks for your feedback, good to know we are of the same mind. I have voted up your suggestions in the thread linked above. I would definitely agree with your concept of an additional market for commodities. We have the stock market, the global stock market and the bond market- time for a little physical wealth to flow through the game. The most I can do regarding commodities is build warehouses, mine gold and hoard it until the price goes up. Then try to sell it and find the government imports it xD and get annoyed I just blew 10 years mining gold for it to have less value than when it come out the ground.Kristo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 1:18 pm Hi,

Those suggestions are great! Those should be real. I think Capitalism lab should be a simulation rather than a game. I played this game with college students and bank managers. They agree the same idea with me. I believe Capitalism lab will be better since it starts to transform to a simulation.

There is a post with the same suggestion that right-clicking should not exit a window.
I would recommend that you vote at the post's poll:
