Re: New Feature in v10.0.40: Auto MOD Downloader Upgrade Button
is this a smart feature ? aka if the mod wont work because the user doesn't own some of the DLC, will it still let them install the update and then possibly not work?
I think current realworld requires all DLC ? so if you dont have all DLC, does it download 13.21 which requires all dlc ? does it download an older version that supports the DLC you have or does it refuse to download because you cant use 13.21 ?
Also as a side issue since it can be a controversial issue, what is Englight's stance on paid mods, are authors allowed to sell access to there mods/source code or not ? I would recommend having some sort of policy in place, as modding is becoming increasingly monetised. (for instance the skyrim mod drama)

It only upgrades those mods that are in the auto mod downloader's list.cantdownloadit wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 2:59 pm is this a smart feature ? aka if the mod wont work because the user doesn't own some of the DLC, will it still let them install the update and then possibly not work?

RealWorld MOD has been requiring the same DLCs since it was first added to the auto mod downloader's list.
The feature you mentioned or checking DLCs will require additional dev time. It would be something that I would recommend your ideas to the dev team when any the 3 MODs in the auto mod downloader's list change their DLC requirements. For now, we don't have to worry about it yet.

You may create a thread on this in the MOD forum and I will post Enlight's stance on it in detail.

Can confirm that this process works correctly and the mods are downloading with no problems.
