Yes, be more accurate, it should be a multi-human player game.

I missed the funny old days. One of the player I remember was Milohaze who setup a cap2 website.
www.capalive.com

anyone from there?

well yeah, but I guess the problem nowadays is (well apart of moment of isolation because of virus) that it is quite hard to get so many people in one time to play a game like capitalism, it is quite niche game. I am assuming in normal times, most of us is working and that mean grup "A" of us is at work, group "B" of is at home and then it swaps. Having set up game that run for 24h, and you can come in and go out at, any point of a day, without breaking other people game, is quite good way to go around, random people schedules. Obviously game rules would change to some degree, some less some more. I can imagine problem that would bring and solution to this problems, so it can be done. Definitely there is some rules and interface solutions that are outdated, and here also I can imagine how it can work better, so it can be done. Whole management could be made more compact without loosing complexity of the game. I am no coder by any means so I can not imagine what is better. I can only guess, and my guess would be that if we would have "Capitalism Online" it would be made from scratches. We also know that dev team already is preparing for another project so what is left for us is just dreams ;-)

well, i know each suggestion has its pros and cons.
but one of my main point is that the multi-player function had been available before,
and i guess the development team won't need too much effort to resume it.

in the past, the Ubisoft platform only provided a place for players to meet and join,
once the games has started, the game host who be responsible for running the game.
Since it is not graphics related, the host itself doesn't need to be some super computer,
just a normal home pc can handle it smoothly.

imagine almost 15 years ago we were still using 56K modem and Pentium cpu,
todays hardware will have no problem at all.

about the game time, probably it is during weekend but who knows, in the past
some players were online 24 hours a day! :P

haha! yeah good old times :-), but yeah, if network code is somewhere there then I guess it should be possible to make this game multiplayer as well. Well, of what I noticed on this forum is that devs do care about they customers. Prepare a poll and who knows maybe you will catch enough attention. :-)

Hi David,

Thank you for your reply. So does it mean that it is not that simple to add the feature of Multi-player Lan in Cap lab?
I just thought it would be similar to Capitalism 2 and with nowadays hardware, the game will run even smoother and better.

FYI, this is a community driven project of updating Enlight's Seven Kingdoms game to SDL library: https://7kfans.com/

The part-time contributors spent 3 years or so porting the game to a new graphics library but it took them 5 years or so to port the multiplayer code and iron out the synchronization problems of the multiplayer game.

Multiplayer game synchronization problems are common and notoriously difficult to fix.

Looking on what they did and do, they are professional 8-) ... it is not always matter of being pro or amateur. Of what I understand it is matter of resources, so time, money and labour.

David, you are an independence studia aren't you?
