These are enhancements or options. Since you don't need to use these features, it takes nothing away from the game. Thus, there is little reason to not vote for these. Either way, I thank you for your votes and feedback.
Time management is a fundamental component of how your game progression flows. Some of us try to finish a game in a few hours, and others play for weeks. That is the nature of sandbox games.
- For the way I usually play the game, I would like controls to "Run to the first of the month" with the press of a key, which would run at speed 5 until the new month, at which point it would return to the speed at which it was when RunTo was pressed. (an in-game option could be specified to instead "pause after runto".) Also "Run to the first of the year". Might as well throw in "first of the quarter" and "run for 7 days" also.
- Run to new year
- Run to new quarter (Jan 1, Apr 1, July 1, Oct 1)
- Run to new month
- Run for one week
- For the way I usually don't
play the game, I'd like to be able to set an option for a new game where I cannot change the game speed or pause the game. That is, an option to fix the game at a given speed. I must admit whenever I try play at a fixed speed I can't help myself and end up "cheating".
I originally did this as training for multiplayer, to practice playing at faster speeds without dropping the ball online.
Nowadays, I actually wish I could not use the slower speeds so that the game would force me to finish! lol I always end up investigating something for way to much time, and after I'm done for the evening, maybe only one game year has gone by. One year per day makes only one 30year game per month. I'd rather play faster than that, but I can't help myself.
Um there's a little trick here for #2, we should be able to pause, but not to play the game while paused. We can stop to go to the bathroom, but we're not able to perform infinite actions on any given day as we currently can via pause.
Another sub-point of #2 would be an in-game option to specify between "constant speed of x" or "only speeds of x or faster," since an understate point is that the intent is to make games finish faster by not slowing down, but speeding up temporarily is fine.
