Re: Extra CMO Options
I believe the amount I want to spend has a separate control, while the cost to rating ratio determines the effectiveness of each dollar I spend.. I would tend to think that option 3 is all we need.

That completely slipped my mind!chengtsai wrote:How about crate a setting to let cmo purchase its own ads from its own company.
For some reason my cmo love to buy other ads from other company regardless
Of cost, rating or even continet issue.
Thanks

Currently the CMO is already using 3) The best ratio (of cost vs rating).anshuk wrote:I believe the amount I want to spend has a separate control, while the cost to rating ratio determines the effectiveness of each dollar I spend.. I would tend to think that option 3 is all we need.

Re: Extra CMO Options
But these will lead to the AI always using the same media firms for advertising. To maximize the brand awareness, one has to advertise in more than one media firm.1) Highest rating- When money is no object and the player just wants the best no matter the cost (Good for corporate brand)
2) Lowest cost- Near the beginning when any advertising is better than nothing and spending needs to be low (Eg- a small business advertising in a local paper rather than a national paper (Or a local/independant radio station))
On a related note, how do you find the AI's ability to rotate media firms for you? Do you think it is doing a good job rotating the media firms?
The programmer told me that currently the CMO use the same code as AI competitors in picking media firms.

Re: Extra CMO Options
There is a suggestion for adding:
"The ability to set a new advertising budget to all advertising units in all firms from the CMO office in HQ."
in this post:

Do you guys still find it necessary to add this? If so, how would you like the interface to look like? Just setting a fixed budget which overrides the CMO's own decision?

Re: Extra CMO Options
I would suggest changing this post's poll options to 1) all 4 CMO options 2) only CMO option #3

Its good that #3 is already being used thenDavid wrote:But these will lead to the AI always using the same media firms for advertising. I guess its because all the AI and my firms are using exactly the same code that these media firm price cycles are forming.
Perhaps an aggressiveness setting of some sort would help

Re: Extra CMO Options
Do CMOs automatically favor media firms that you own? Perhaps something to make it so that they'll spend more if the media firm is owned internally? Of course it wouldn't be their sole source of advertising.
