I am loving the game, and look forward with great anticipation at some of these improvements in the works (especially, some of the new scripts, allowing one to choose cities and player expertise)! Other than the occasional program-quit, my biggest complaint is that the stock market system is still so easily exploitable, making it possible to (essentially) create limitless company wealth, out of nothing. For detail on this exploit, point one of the first post on this page:

Thank you, Enlight, for this masterpiece of a simulation/game!

There is a discussion about the stock market on this thread:

Perhaps we can come up with a suggestion for the dev team for adding an optional game setting on the New Game Setup menu, which makes it less easy to make huge sums of money by trading stock. Any specific suggestions about what kind of restrictions on stock trading you would like to see?

Honestly, I think exploiting the stock market in any of the ways that have been told about so far in the game just needs to have the gamer show some self restraint from doing so.
I wrote up something about this earlier (months ago I think) that explained how it was too easy to just pick out a group of companies at the very beginning of the game and invest in them, then fast forward (speed 5) for a reasonably short period of time and take that initial investment and make tens of billions of dollars if not trillions of dollars simply because stocks seem to take that initial leap into the 5000% or higher bracket at the start of the game. I don't expect nor think that the developers can do something about this without it being too restrictive on game play so believe it's unfortunately one of those things that the gamer just has to show self restraint and not exploit.

Well for one there is no taxes when trading stock, and if there is it's clearly not noticeable. Massive amounts of trading, in and out of stocks, should rack up hefty taxes over time. Free-ride trading caplab is easy, however, if you operate the sim like an actual hedging/holding company and have expenses for a COO, your own personal annual salary, investor relations etc etc buying & selling stocks has more meaning because there are obvious draw backs if you lose money on trades. I tried dividend investing, but annual dividends don't provide good yield.David wrote:There is a discussion about the stock market on this thread:
